The Western Balkans ESG Foundation is the first non-profit organisation in the region dedicated exclusively to ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) standards, headquartered in Belgrade. The Foundation strives to integrate sustainability goals into business and public policy, and to contribute to transparent reporting and education. The Foundation’s team aims for it to become a driver of the sustainable integration of ESG standards into everyday business, public policy, and local communities. The WB ESG Foundation has unique resources and expertise, including ESG experts, professors and researchers, and experienced professionals, who collaborate to contribute to greater sustainability in the Western Balkans.

Below we present an interview with Aleksandra Marković, the Foundation’s Operations Manager, who led the testing of the WAY2LRN platform during a 6-month period in 2025. Aleksandra shares the experiences and impressions of the Foundation’s team, which led to the transition into client status after the trial period.

Why did you decide to test WAY2LRN, and what were your expectations at the beginning of the cooperation and testing?

Aleksandra: We received a recommendation for the platform and were immediately interested in its potential for implementing online education processes. We wanted to explore a modern solution that unites simple content creation with efficient administration. We expected an intuitive platform that would make it easy to manage trainings and users — and we received even more: a structured, professional, and flexible solution.

Implementation process and platform usage

How would you evaluate the implementation process and the use of the basic functionalities?

The implementation process was quick and straightforward. The team showed a high level of professionalism and readiness to respond to all our requests. The organization of trainings was very intuitive, the platform allows easy structuring of modules, adding materials, and tracking progress. We tested module creation, test integration, automatic certificate issuance, and monitoring user engagement. All functionalities worked well, and we got excellent results.

How simple was it to create and organize trainings, add users, and automate communication?

Creating a training is simple and does not require technical knowledge, which was important for our team. We used tests and automatic certificate generation, which greatly facilitated the process and gave additional value to users. Adding users is very simple, which was very important to us, and we also automated welcome emails as well as notifications about access to trainings – everything worked without any problems.

How did users react to the platform, and what was most important to them?

The reactions were extremely positive. Users immediately noticed the professional look and ease of use. They had no problems with access or navigation through the content. What they valued most was the 24/7 availability, the structured trainings, and the option to revisit materials at any time.
Feedback was positive — the platform was rated as professional and clear, and requests for assistance were minimal. The platform significantly raised the level of professionalism in the presentation and delivery of trainings.

Results and recommendations

How much time did the platform save you, and which metrics did you monitor?

The platform significantly reduced the time needed for administration and communication — especially through email automation and the availability of materials in one place. We monitored test pass rates, time spent learning, and the number of users who completed training — all through clear and transparent reports. We regularly relied on these reports to track progress and assess the success of trainings.

Which functionality proved to be the most valuable to you?

The most valuable function is the ability to track user engagement and progress through automated reports — this provides a clear picture of the effectiveness of each training.

How would you rate the support during the testing, and would you recommend the platform to other organizations?

Communication with the team was fast, clear, and supportive. We received precise answers to every question in a short period of time. Though we had several additional requests related to branding, all of them were successfully resolved quickly. We recommend the WAY2LRN platform to educational organizations, consulting companies, and anyone who wants to modernize the training process and provide a professional user experience.

Did the testing meet expectations, and do you plan to continue the cooperation?

Certainly. The platform met all expectations, both functionally and in terms of user experience. Yes, we plan to continue the cooperation and further use of the platform for future generations.
